This is one of the last pieces painted during this "period".
It is one of the few paintings I intended to create, having a vision of what I wanted to begin with. I used a canvas I had created earlier that I could not find a reason for. The figure is partly drawn from a photograph taken by the American phographer Curtis who travelled America to photograph what was even then a dying breed - the American Indian.
His eyes can look into your soul and if you are captured enough by the painting, it can speak to you of things that exist within yourself.
One of the most interesting questions I ever heard about was if you believe in reincarnation then where did all the North American Indians go. The answer turned out to be here. They are us. They reincarnated as us.
