The Emerald Protector started, as most of these paintings do, as a completely abstract painting. Meditating on the image brought out a feeling of being protected from a harsh wind and the shapes to the top right looked like filaments of a future flower.

So I painted in the green edge of the leaf protecting the filaments by darkening the inside. The rest of the painting was left as it was.
